Is the Journal's Editorial Independence Board a Joke? 'They're Welcome to Their Interpretation,' Says Member
So how's that editorial independence board for The Wall Street Journal doing? And will they do anything about Marcus Brauchli's departure?
"I'm really not going to comment on any of it," said Tom Bray, one of the five members of the committee and the de facto spokesman.
When asked if the board has met, he said that it has, but refused to speak about whether they had any say--or any knowledge--about Marcus Brauchli's departure.
When asked how he felt that many in the newsroom view the board as a joke, he said, "They’re welcome to their interpretation. You’ve read the charter of the committee and we’ll follow that."

Possession, we've all been told, is nine points of the law (whatever that means). Murdoch owns Dow Jones. What judge, in what court, would rule that he doesn't have the right to hire and fire anyone he wants to?
